Don your favorite SNL costume for LLS fund-raiser Saturday
Whether you're a Church Lady or a Wild and Crazy kinda guy, this Saturday is your chance to don the goods and make a name for yourself.
That's right - it's the Saturday Night Live costume contest organized in the name of charity. The event is slated for Saturday night at Voodoo Bar, 304 North 168th Circle, and is a fun way to raise money for blood cancer research and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
From hilarious to horrific, SNL characters have for decades stood the test of time as comedy icons. Get your costumes ready! Because you are good enough, you're smart enough, and gosh darnit, people like you!
Cost is $20 at the door, which includes includes food, entertainment, and the SNL costume contest, and 100 percent of the money raised goes directly to the organization.
"Each year The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) launches its Man & Woman of the Year fundraising campaign, and I was honored to join this year’s efforts as the 2016 Woman of the Year candidate for Team Difference Maker," said organizer Michelle Schrage. "I have friends who have suffered the debilitating effects that leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma can have on those who suffer from these blood cancers, and on the friends and family who care for and nurture their loved ones."
Leukemia still causes more deaths than any other cancer among children under the age of 20," Schrage said on the event announcement.
The event is Saturday, March 12, from 8-11:30 p.m.
